We are now through five weeks of the USFL season. Week 1 showed some promise with former Eagles players, and Week 2 was mostly the same players getting the same production they had the previous week. Week 3 saw some good progress for quite a few former Birds. Week 4 started to show which former Eagles have carved out permanent roles for their teams, and much of the same unfolded in Week 5.
A reminder that a total of 12 players in the league have spent at least some time on the Eagles 53-man roster or training camp roster. Every team has at least one former Eagle except for the Philadelphia Stars.
Here's a look at the former Eagles who appeared in this weekend's boxscores:

Philadelphia Stars
The Stars had a 17-13 lead going into halftime in their game against the undefeated Birmingham Stallions, but they were shut out in the second half and lost 30-17. It's tough to fault them for the loss though as the Stallions have the extra advantage of being the only team with a noticeable home-field advantage since all games are played in Birmingham. The Stars are now 2-3 but still are in a playoff position as they remain in 2nd place in the division (top 2 teams in each division advance to playoffs).
We'll track these former Eagles along with the Philadelphia Stars throughout their seasons to see if any play well enough to earn another chance in the NFL, and possibly another chance in Philadelphia.
