2023 Week 1 Injury Report: Eagles at Patriots

The Philadelphia Eagles will kick off their season on Sunday with a matchup against the Patriots in New England. The Eagles will enter the game with a fully healthy active roster, while a couple of Patriots on the active roster are dealing with injuries and they also have a slew of players on injured reserve.

Here's a look at the Week 1 injury report:

IR

LB Shaun Bradley (achilles)

Bradley will miss the entire 2023 season. He was primarily a special teamer last season for the Birds.

CB Zech McPhearson (achilles)

McPhearson will miss the entire 2023 season. He was primarily a special teamer last season for the Birds but did have 99 snaps on defense playing both outside corner and as a slot corner.

Here's a breakdown of the Patriots' final injury report

OUT

CB Jack Jones (hamstring)

Jones suffered his injury in practice this week. Jonathan Jones and Christian Gonzalez are likely to see a lot of time at corner on Sunday. Marcus Jones and Shaun Wade will back them up

QUESTIONABLE

QB Matt Corral (not injury related)

Corral just arrived in New England so it's likely he will be kept off the sidelines while he becomes familiar with the playbook. Bailey Zappe and Malik Cunningham are on the practice squad and one of them will likely be called up for this game.

G Mike Onwenu (ankle)

Onwenu played 99.4% of the offense's snaps last season, injury his ankle late in the season finale which has kept him out the entire offseason. 5th-Round rookie Antonio Mafi is his backup.

RB Rhamondre Stevenson (illness)

If Stevenson is not healthy enough to play then Zeke Elliott is set to be the main guy in the Patriots backfield.

WR DeVante Parker (knee)

Parker is set to be the Patriots' #1 receiver this season. If he can't play then 6th-round rookie Kayshon Boutte will be slotted for a big role in his NFL debut.

G Cole Strange (knee)

Strange suffered a knee injury on the first day of contact in training camp. Antonion Mafi is also his primary backup but if he has to play for Onwenu then 4th-round rookie Jake Andrews will be pressed into play.

IR

CB Isaiah Bolden

Bolden was a 7th-round draft pick in this year's draft.

OL Conor McDermott

McDermott played and started in six games for the Patriots last season.

LB Raekwon McMillan

McMillan was a rotational player last season with the Patriots, getting in just 23% of defensive snaps and 64% of special teams snaps. Appearing in 16 games, he registered 35 tackles (5 TFLs), and 1 QB hit.

OL Riley Reiff

Reiff was expected to be the starting RT this season. Now with him on IR Calvin Anderson (41 games, 12 starts in his NFL career) is expected to start Sunday's game.

WR Tyquan Thornton

Thornton played 13 games his rookie season, registering 22 receptions for 247 yards and 2 receiving touchdowns. He also had 3 rush attempts for 16 rushing yards and 1 rushing touchdown.

PUP

DB Cody Davis

Davis has played in 133 career games and has been a steady contributor for the Patriots' special teams.

DE Trey Flowers

Flowers has 31.5 career sacks but he has been bitten by the injury bug since 2020.
