Eagles Adding Preseason Tight End to the Roster

Since adding Cre'Von LeBlanc to Injured Reserve, the team has been at 52 players. With one more roster spot available, the team decided to bring back one of the tight ends that was on the 90-man roster last month -- Alex Ellis.

Ellis made a few good plays in the preseason, including a one-handed catch and a touchdown in the back of the endzone which were both part of our top 10 plays of the preseason recap.

With Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert ahead of him, Ellis likely won't see the field that much. He'll only get on if the team runs three tight end sets, or in two tight end sets if one of the other two need a breather.

If didn't seem like the Eagles were completely satisfied with Ellis though, so if another tight end becomes available on waivers throughout the season, the Eagles would likely release Ellis in order to grab the guy off waivers.
