Bold Predictions: Eagles at 49ers

The Eagles are going into this weekend's game against the San Francisco 49ers desperately needing a victory to avoid a sickening 0-3-1 start to a season. Before the teams take the field, our writers need to make their bold predictions for the game known.

Here's a recap of previous bold predictions from each week and the winning predictor from our writers:

Week 1: no one

Week 2: Andrew W.

Week 3: no one

We'll see if anyone can have a fully correct prediction this week as the Eagles try to get win #1 on the board in 2020. Here's what our writers are boldly predicting for this weekend:

  • Andrew W: Jim Schwartz will realize that his plan to attack Joe Burrow worked last week, so he'll continue calling blitzes. Nick Mullens will be under pressure often, and the Eagles will end up with 5+ sacks, three of them from Brandon Graham.

  • Caitlin: Eagles win 13-10 with a big performance from the defense. Sanders rushes for a TD. Elliot is the hero of the game.

  • Trevor: Greg Ward ties the single-game receiving record with 15 catches 150+ yards and two touchdowns. Eagles win on a last-second field goal 30-28.

  • Paul: Carson Wentz will throw for 250 yards, three touchdowns, and just one interception. Miles Sanders will get 30+ carries and Greg Ward will get seven or more catches because of all the other receivers dealing with injuries. The final score will be 26-17 Eagles.
