Over the course of his eight-year NFL career, Zach Ertz has had sustained success against the Eagles' three divisional opponents. In fact, over 39% (217) of his 555 career catches have come in games against Washington, New York, and Dallas. That's why it should not come as a surprise that Ertz will likely be making history in Sunday's game against Dallas.
Heading into Week 16, Zach Ertz (63) is one reception away from passing Harold Carmichael for the most catches against the Cowboys in Eagles history. What makes this even more impressive is that it took Carmichael 25 games to reach 63 receptions, and it only took Ertz 14 games to reach that mark.
Ertz and Carmichael are currently tied for the 8th-most receptions all-time against Dallas. The only players with more receptions against the Cowboys are Art Monk (96), Charley Taylor (95), Santana Moss (91), Gary Clark (85), Amani Toomer (78), Tiki Barber (74), and Jerry Smith (64).
There's a solid chance Ertz ends up ahead of Jerry Smith and slots himself into 7th place on this historic list by the end of Sunday's game. From there, it's up to Ertz and the front office to determine his future here in Philadelphia to see if he can climb even further up this "Cowboys Killer" list.
