Jason Kelce Tells Media He Is Pondering Retirement

After a heartbreaking loss to the New Orleans Saints in the Divisional Round of the Playoffs, the Eagles are now looking ahead to their offseason. One player in particular though might be thinking about his future after football, and how it might be coming sooner than everyone thinks.

When talking to media in the locker room, Eagles center Jason Kelce revealed that he has been contemplating retirement for a few years.

It is unclear whether or not Kelce had previously let the team know about the mulling of his football career of the past few seasons, but if he hadn't, the team certainly knows now. Howie Roseman and the scouting department will need to start paying closer attention to the centers of the 2019 NFL Draft, as now would be a great time to draft Kelce's eventual replacement since the Eagles will have 10 picks in this year's draft.

The closest thing to a center the Eagles have recently drafted was Isaac Seumalo in 2016, who seems to have found a home at left guard. Stefan Wisniewski does have a lot of experience at center, but he is a much better player when he is at guard. With Kelce breaking this news, along with Brandon Brooks tearing his achilles and the future of Jason Peters unknown, the future at offensive line for the Eagles is now shaky and unsettled.
