Jason Kelce Plans to Play (At Least) One More Season

Today the best center in football announced that he is putting off retirement and returning for (at least) one more season! He took to Instagram to make the announcement official.

Last season, Kelce told media that he was contemplating retirement and would do so at the end of every season from then-on. In the locker room after the Wildcard round loss to the Seattle Seahawks, he exhibited some ominous behavior that hinted that he might lean toward retiring, but after taking some time to think of his decision, Kelce has decided to try for one more ring.

Kelce (126) currently has played the 31st-most games in Eagles history. If he plays all 16 games in 2020, he will tie Ron Jaworski (142) for the 17th-most games played in team history.

Coming off of three consecutive All-Pro selections, Kelce is one more selection away from pretty much cementing his status as a future Pro Football Hall of Famer. That alone should give him some incentive to continue his career and his stellar play. Hopefully, father time (and COVID-19) doesn't get in his way in 2020.
