Halapoulivaati Vaitai has been at the center of discussion for some time now. The big question was, is Big V capable of being a quality starting tackle in the NFL? We may no longer need to answer that question due to the fact that he has been getting reps at right guard this preseason, and he has actually been pretty good.
This is Big V completely bullying his opposition in Week 2 of the preseason against the Jacksonville Jaguars. You can see him excelling in both the run block and the pass block. We know it's just preseason, but it is still promising.
Vaitai is making a strong case for backing up Brandon Brooks at right guard this season. With Brooks still rehabbing his achilles injury, Vaitai might actually have to start until Brooks is healthy enough to return. With how well he has been playing at guard this preseason, do not be too concerned if you see him protecting Carson Wentz at right guard to start the season.
