Eagles Sign Two More Players to Future Contracts

Even though they are busy gearing up for a matchup for the right to play in the NFC Championship Game, the Eagles are staying busy and bringing in players for the 2019 offseason who could earn a shot at making the roster during training camp.

This time, the Eagles signed two players: T Tyreek Burwell and DB Mercy Maston.

Burwell went undrafted in 2015, and signed with the San Diego Chargers. He played 16 games with the Chargers over two seasons, and played 1 game with the Colts, so he does have some experience that might help him earn a backup job on the offensive line in Philadelphia.

Maston was one of six players the Eagles worked out on Christmas Eve, and so far the team has signed four of those players. The others the Eagles have signed are Marken MichelCarlton Agudosi and Alex Singleton. Maston played with the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League the past two seasons, playing in 19 games and recording 57 tackles and two interceptions. He could make a new for himself on special teams, where he compiled 8 special team tackles in 2018 alone.
