With Jalen Mills gone and Rodney McLeod rehabbing from a torn ACL, the Eagles are in desperate need of help at the safety position. That desperation led to them signing one of the top safeties left on the free agent market.
ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that the Eagles are signing Anthony Harris to a one-year deal worth $5 Million.
Harris, a former Minnesota Viking, has some ties with new Eagles DC Jonathan Gannon. Gannon was the Vikings' assistant DBs coach from 2015-17. Harris was on the Vikings from 2015 all the way through this past season.
The 29-year-old Harris became a full-time starter in 2019. He's played in 81 games in his career, compiling 284 tackles (three for loss), two QB hits, nine interceptions (one pick-six), 28 passes defended, one forced fumble, and four fumble recoveries.
