Eagles Preparing for Darren Sproles Return?

After a week of rest for the team, it seems like the Eagles are ready for another player to return from injury in time for the Cowboys game. Today the team placed WR DeAndre Carter on the waiver wire.

This roster move could mean Darren Sproles is finally ready to return from his hamstring injury, which has kept him out since the season-opener against the Atlanta Falcons.

Carter initially made the 53-man roster to be a wide receiver to help out while Alshon Jeffery still recovered from his offseason shoulder surgery. Once Sproles was hurt, Carter became the team's punt-returner. Carter did pretty well in that role, averaging 10.3 yards/return and helping the Eagles offense start their drives with good field-position.

If Sproles ends up missing Sunday's game against the Cowboys, new weapon Golden Tate has handled punt-returns before, so he would be the likely candidate to fill that role until Sproles returns.
