Eagles Place Corey Clement on Injured Reserve

Eagles running back Corey Clement has been placed on Injured Reserve after suffering a shoulder injury in Sunday's game against the New York Jets. The team has called up Boston Scott from the practice squad to take his place.

Clement was a non-factor the entire season, barely getting any snaps on offense. He was however an active contributor on special teams. The team is allowed to bring back two players from the Injured Reserved list after eight weeks. With Cre'Von LeBlanc probably taking one of those spots, it makes little sense for the Eagles to bring back a 4th-string running back. So his season is most likely over. Clement will be a free agent at the end of this season, so this is a possibility we've seen Clement take the field as an Eagle for the last time.

I doubt Howie Roseman will be content with Scott being the 4th running back long-term. Maybe the team would be interested in bringing back Jay Ajayi for another turn in the Eagles backfield. He has already informed every team in the NFL that he has fully healed from his torn ACL. If not Ajayi, then likely another NFL veteran will receive a call from the Eagles in the near future.
