With Nick Foles signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars today, the Eagles are in need of a back-up quarterback. The team believes they have a solid option in Nate Sudfeld, as tonight the Eagles have reportedly place a 2nd-round tender on the young quarterback.
Sudfeld will now have a month to sign this tender. If another team were to sign Sudfeld to an offer sheet, the Eagles would have a chance to match that offer, or allow him to sign with the other team and gain a 2nd round pick in the process.
Sudfeld's 2019 contract will be for $3 Million, which likely means he won't be going anywhere and will be the prime candidate to back-up Carson Wentz this upcoming season.
