With the addition of Golden Tate to the Eagles roster, the team had to make a corresponding room to make room for the new wide receiver. The team ended up releasing defensive tackle Bruce Hector.
It may be just a minor move at first glance, but with the team releasing a defensive tackle when they don't have much depth at the position, it has led to some speculation. WIP's Howard Eskin says that he believes this move means it's a good chance Jernigan makes his return when the Eagles play the Cowboys on November 11th.
Jernigan has missed the first half of the season after injuring his back in the offseason. If he is able to return after the bye week, Jernigan will bring a big boost to the Eagles defense. Jernigan will line up next to Fletcher Cox, and will allow Haloti Ngata to rotate in for Jernigan and Cox when they need breathers, and will help keep all three players to have fresher legs as the season moves on.
We'll find out more about Jernigan's availability after the bye week.
