Well this is interesting. Late Thursday night, a report came out that the Steelers were trading WR Antonio Brown to the Buffalo Bills. For some reason that deal fell through at it now appears that Brown will not be heading to Buffalo.
So now with Brown still available for a trade, it's still anybody's guess where he ends up. But CBS' NFL reporter Jason La Canfora has reason to believe that the Eagles are in the mix to obtain one of the best receivers in football.
Now this news nugget should be taken with a big grain of salt. Although he is a well-known reporter and respected by his colleagues, La Canfora's inside source with Philadelphia hasn't really given him any credible information or "scoops" over the past few seasons.
The Eagles would probably having a hard time affording Antonio Brown's wishes of a new contract, especially since Carson Wentz will likely get his mega-contract next season, but I guess anything is possible. It's still pleasant to imagine Carson Wentz tossing balls to Antonio Brown and Alshon Jeffery on the outside, with Zach Ertz in the middle of the field.
