Can The Eagles Pull Off Another Wildcard Thriller?

The Eagles will take on the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday in the Wildcard Playoffs at Lincoln Financial Field. Philadelphia's defense surprised me in the regular-season finale win over the New York Giants that earned the Birds the NFC Eastern Division title. Seattle does have more weapons than the Giants though in the likes of Russell Wilson, Marshawn Lynch, DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett.

Philadelphia's defense will really be tested against the Seahawks on Sunday, but what's good is that the game is at the Linc. These two teams met back on November 24th at the Linc, and the Seahawks took control of that game by forcing five Eagles turnovers. This will be a much different game than the previous one, because there is no way the Eagles offense will turn the ball over as much as the first game, and a playoff atmosphere at the Linc is about 10x harder to play in than a regular season atmosphere.

The Eagles suffered a significant loss on the offensive line last week in the win over the Giants in Brandon Brooks, but I think they are still have good strength on the offensive line by having the likes of Jason Peters, Isaac Seumalo and Jason Kelce. Jordan Howard is back at running back, but Miles Sanders has really made a significant impact in Jordan Howard's absence and not to mention Boston Scott has impressed too. Zach Ertz has been cleared to play for Sunday, so they are getting a big boost to their offense in that regard. Ertz was Carson Wentz's favorite target this season, targeting him 135 times. Getting Ertz back for this game is also huge because the Seahawks allowed the second most yards to tight ends this season.

I am confident that the Eagles have revenge on their minds on Sunday, and as beat up as they were, they still won four consecutive NFC East games to clinch the division. I know for a fact that they can win this game. The Eagles went on the road and won in the Wildcard Round over Chicago a year ago, and that was a very good Bears team. If Philadelphia can prevent turnovers, protect Carson Wentz, get the running game going, and keep the secondary healthy, they will win this game.
