Bold Predictions: Eagles at Falcons

The Eagles head into Week 2 trying to keep a perfect season alive as they get ready to face the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday Night Football. In our Week 1 bold predictions article, Mike W. was the writer with the most accurate prediction, as he believed the Eagles would be trailing at halftime but have a big 2nd half with Alshon Jeffery involved heavily in the offensive gameplan.

We'll see if Mike W. can go 2-for2 on bold predictions this season, or if another writer will step up and nail a bold prediction. Here's what our writers have to say about Sunday's game against the Falcons:

Michael V.: Going to stay on the defensive side of the ball again this week. Didn't get the pick six from Sidney Jones that I was looking for against the skins, but I still think an INT is coming his way soon. The defense can bend but not break if the Eagles want to come out of ATL with a W Sunday night. I'm thinking there will be another 4th and goal for the Falcons where they need points and again, the Eagles D will rise to the occascion and find a way to come up with the stop.

Andrew: The Falcons didn't allow any Minnesota Vikings tight end to pull in a reception last Sunday (granted the Vikings only threw the ball 10 times on the way to a big victory). So should I predict Zach Ertz to have a big game Sunday Night? Nope, I'm going with "that other guy" Dallas Goedert. Two touchdowns and he ends up with more catches than Ertz in the game.

Mike W.: The Eagles will definitely win this game. My bold prediction for this game is that the Eagles will have more rushing attempts than passing attempts in this game. As I am writing this, watching Penn State and Pitt, I can't help but to imagine that this will be a huge Miles Sanders / Jordan Howard game. I think they both have 10 + touches and Howard rushes for 2 TDs. Sanders picks up his first TD of the season, and the Eagles coast to a 27-9 victory. Go Birds

Alexis: The Eagles are the favored team in this matchup. That’s not too surprising based off the Falcons' performance against the Vikings last week. Doug Pederson is 3-0 against the Falcons since his time with the Eagles, so I don’t think this should be a difficult win for the Birds. I predict a good start with a touchdown on the opening drive from DeSean Jackson in the 1st Quarter. My prediction of the final score is Eagles 32 Falcons 20 to advance to 2-0 on the season.

Shannon: My bold prediction for the Eagles and Falcons game is the Eagles will score 2 touchdowns in the first quarter. They will get points on the board quick in this game like Doug has been coaching them to do.
