Today the NFL released its list of top vote-getters from fans for the 2019 Pro Bowl. Obviously the Eagles did not end up having many players lead in fan votes with the team currently sitting at 6-7 on the season, but one player did lead his position in votes - Zach Ertz.
The Eagles tight end ended up with 648,992 votes to lead his position group in the NFC. Votes fans, players and coaches each count as one-third toward determining the players who will be selected to the Pro Bowl. After gaining so many fan votes, Ertz is all but certain to earn his second consecutive Pro Bowl nod. Both Pro Bowl rosters will be announced on Tuesday, December 18th on NFL Network's live Pro Bowl special NFL Total Access: Pro Bowl Players Revealed at 8:00PM.
Ertz's Pro Bowl nomination will be well deserved, as he is currently going through one of the greatest seasons a tight end has ever had in the NFL. He has already broken the Eagles single-season receptions record, and he is 13 receptions away from having the most receptions in a season by a tight end in NFL history. Once he is announced as a Pro-Bowler, next on his check list will hopefully be being named to The Associated Press' 2018 NFL All-Pro Team.
