I thought about just using 1,000 fire emoji to illustrate what’s going on here. Year in and year out, it’s always “this will be Zach Ertz’s breakout season”. Well, it’s finally happening and calling it a breakout would be underselling it. Ertz is on pace to set franchise and NFL records alike.
Ertz and Wentz are close both on and off the field. They have a unique chemistry and it seems like whenever the Eagles are in a need of a big first down, Ertz is on the receiving end of it. Ertz is more than just Wentz’s security blanket. He’s his favorite teddy, binky, and rattle wrapped into one (shout-out to parents because the struggle is real).
The Eagles are coming home from London with a win they desperately needed and now head into a bye week they need even more. Lots of guys are banged up, so the rest will do them good. Here’s hoping that it doesn’t cool off Ertz at all though, because after the bye, a new season begins.
