Last week, Malcolm Jenkins was the player I most wanted to take from the New Orleans Saints, and for the first time in this series, I was WAY off. Jenkins did not play his best game, while Jalen Hurts and Miles Sanders ran all over the Saints defense. This week, I'll take a look at some of the top players from the Arizona Cardinals and choose one to join the Eagles this week.
The Cardinals have no shortage of weapons on their offense. Quarterback Kyler Murray is coming into his own in his second season, and running back Kenyan Drake would be an outstanding one-two punch with Sanders. Wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald is a future hall of famer, and DeAndre Hopkins is arguable the best wide receiver in football today. Even Christian Kirk would be a good addition to a lackluster group of wide receivers on the Eagles, but this week, we are going to the defensive side of the ball again.
Anybody remember Jordan Hicks? Howie Roseman let Hicks go in free agency just a short while ago, and he has been playing above average since his departure from Philadelphia. Haason Reddick has been a monster for the Cardinals with 10 sacks on the season, which leads the team. Then there is safety Budda Baker. Not only does Baker lead the team in tackles with 75, but he also is second on the team with two interceptions. Forget about him getting chased down by DK Metcalf, the guy has been a stud all year.
With all that said, our cornerback situation is frightening heading into Sunday's matchup. Darius Slay Jr. is out due to concussion protocol and cornerback two Avonte Maddox will also miss the game. The Eagles need Patrick Peterson, and they need him bad. Peterson leads the Cardinals with three interceptions and has the ability to matchup against any team's number one receiver. With Hopkins on the other side of the ball, Peterson would be the best addition to help the Eagles in tomorrow's game.
Sound off below, who would YOU take from the Arizona Cardinals for today's matchup?
