This Past Month Has Cemented Doug Pederson's Status as One of Top Head Coaches in the NFL

Remember how we all felt after that Miami Dolphins game on December 1st? Remember how we all felt at halftime in the first New York Giants game? Eagles fans were furious, and were calling out the players, the coaches, the front office, and the medical staff. Even after a Super Bowl victory less than two seasons ago, some fans wanted some major shakeups to the entire franchise and head into 2020 with some new direction.

Then at halftime at the Giants game, Doug Pederson flipped a switch that has led Eagles fans and NFL analysts to shut their mouths and appreciate greatness.

Pederson's Eagles are currently riding a four-game winning-streak, with all four wins against NFC East opponents. Getting hot in December isn't new to Pederson, in fact, Pederson is making a new for himself in December, January and February.

With Pederson calling the shots the past four seasons, the Eagles have made the playoffs three times, so far resulting in four wins, and a Lombardi Trophy. Last season he was also just one dropped pass away from essentially coaching in back-to-back NFC Championship games. It's not just making it to the postseason that has made Pederson so impressive, it's the fact that he is able to rally injured squads to unite and play football like a team should. He is able to take guys from the practice squad and rely on them to make impact plays in win-or-go-home games.

He likely won't get many votes, but Pederson should be in the running for this year's Coach of the Year Award. This tweet sums up what Pederson has been doing perfectly:

Even after winning a Super Bowl, it feels like Pederson has been underrated by the NFL media and other NFL fans. Sunday will mark Doug Pederson's sixth postseason game as a head coach (only two other Eagles coaches in history have coached more playoff games). His teams have never been favored -- they are 4-1 straight up and 5-0 against the spread .

The Eagles will welcome the 11-5 Seattle Seahawks to Lincoln Financial Field over the weekend. If he is able to rally his team once again and advance this ragtag roster into the Divisional Round, maybe he will cement himself in the eyes of everyone else as one of the top coaches in the NFL. After watching what has unfolded over the past month, Eagles fans are already well aware that Pederson has cemented himself as an elite coach in the league. We know he will be here for the foreseeable future, and Eagles fans are excited about that and eager to see how many more trophies he can help deliver to the franchise.
