During last night's 1st-round, there was a lot of speculation with what the New York Giants might do with their two selections. Many believed they would choose Eli Manning's successor, and would have a choice between Dwayne Haskins and Daniel Jones. That scenario did end up coming true, as with the sixth overall pick, they picked Jones.
Many experts believed Jones would have lasted until the team's next pick (17th overall), so if they truly valued him over Haskins they could have selected a defensive talent like Josh Allen first and then nab Jones with the 17th pick. Needless to say, many Giants fans weren't happy with their choice early Thursday night.
Here are just a few of the great reactions from the selection of Daniel Jones:
First off, the fans who attended the Giants draft party at MetLife Stadium were not pleased.
Another look at some fans at the MetLife Stadium draft party.
"If you look closely you can actually pinpoint the exact moment his heart breaks in two.”
This fella was not a happy camper either.
Joe Budden was also not a fan of Daniel Jones over Dwayne Haskins.
You just hate to see this happen....
The best reaction was by the fans who actually attended the draft in Nashville.
Of course, when the Giants announced the selection on Twitter, their online fans let them know their displeasure.
The best part of all of this? After the selection, Giants general manager Dave Gettleman let their fans know they probably won't get to watch their 1st-round draft pick for quite a few years.
Three more years of an already 38-year-old Eli Manning? Sign me right up!
