Small School Pro Days the Eagles Visited This Week

Updated: Apr 24, 2019

Over the past week, members of the Eagles' staff were seen in attendance at pro days across the nation. While there was plenty of buzz around some of the bigger programs such as Wisconsin and Arizona, the staff was also seen taking a look at some of the small school prospects. It is always interesting to see interest in small schools as over the past decade it seems as though more stars are being discovered from these schools.

Here are a few of the small school pro days the team had attended this past week.

Chances are unless you're a "Tuesday night MACtion" viewer, you haven't seen many Miami University of Ohio football games. The team does not typically produce NFL starters with the exception of Big Ben, but this year a prospect by the name of Kenny Young III has teams interested. A running back, Young is quick and shifty with excellent vision. In an interview with NFL Draft Diamonds, Young compared himself with a current NFL budding star in Tarik Cohen. On film, you can see that comparison. At 5'7 185 lbs, Young is a smaller back that is shifty, can hit holes and catches extremely well out of the backfield.

While the Eagles swung and missed on Pumphrey a few years back, drafting Young on day three gives them a possible replacement for Sproles.

Wofford, another smaller school that pumps out NFL starters on a rare basis, has a prospect turning some heads. Defensive Tackle Miles Brown is their star prospect heading into the 2019 draft. Brown has good size at 6'2 320 lbs and bullied iOL consistently. In 2018, Brown finished the season with 46 total tackles, 9.5 of those for a loss, and five sacks through 12 games.
