Ronald Darby One Step Closer to Being Ready for Week 1

It's been a while since Ronald Darby has played competitively on a football field. On November 11th of last season Darby tore his ACL in a game against the Cowboys, ending his contract year on a sour note. Now that he has re-signed a one-year "prove it" deal, Darby is eager to play a full season in hopes of landing a long-term deal either with the Eagles or in Free Agency.

He is one step closer to being able to suit up for Week 1, as today he took the field to participate in 11-on-11's for the first time this preseason.

Ever since March, Darby has claimed that he will be ready for Week 1. It seems like he is very close to making that promise come true.

If he is able to play against the Washington Redskins in September 8th, we wouldn't really know how much Jim Schwartz would plan to use him. When all cornerbacks are healthy it seemed like Schwartz liked playing Darby and Jalen Mills on the outside, but now after both of their injuries and the younger players getting more work in Training Camp he might have something else in mind for his defensive backs in 2019.
