Late Thursday night, the Eagles announced that Rodney McLeod agreed to restructure his contract to remain in Philadelphia. Today the terms of the new agreement have been released, and it shows that Howie Roseman once again worked his cap space sorcery.
McLeod has now guaranteed himself to remain an Eagle for at least another year, but his future after 2019 is now unclear. As part of this restructure, Rodney McLeod now will become a free agent at the end of the season.
The Eagles and McLeod can worry about next year when the times comes, but for the time being the Eagles will head into the 2019 season with a healthy secondary. If they stay relatively healthy throughout the season, they have a chance to be just as strong as the 2017 secondary, which only gave up a total of 17 points in two home playoff games before winning Super Bowl LII.
