The Eagles have defeated the Jaguars, and at 4-4 Eagles fans are content going into the bye week. With the bye week coming up, it'll give the Eagles a chance to rest and heal from their injuries. Tackle Lane Johnson has been banged up all season, and came into the game with a high-ankle sprain. He left todays game with an injury as well, reportedly a sprained MCL.
Johnson left the game when Carson Wentz was knocked down and landed on Johnson's knee. He was carted off the field and never returned.
The bye week comes at a perfect time for Johnson, the next game is on November 11th against the Cowboys. It could be a pivotal game for the Eagles, and Johnson will likely try to get back in time for that matchup, but a sprained MCL usually takes a few weeks to heal enough to be able to play through the pain. Adam Schefter is reporting that it is a Grade 2 sprain. According to the Rosenberg Cooley Metcalf Clinic, the time to recover from a Grade 2 MCL sprain is 3 weeks-3 months. The bye week will at least ensure that Johnson misses one less game than if the bye week came later in the season.
