The Eagles were happy to walk away from last night's game with a dominant performance, but the team might have left MetLife Stadium with an enormous injury.
During the 2nd half, Left Tackle Jason Peters ended up leaving the game with a biceps injury. He remained on the sideline the rest of the game, which at first seemed like a good sign, but it seems that Peters will be dealing with a serious injury yet again.
If Peters is able to play the rest of the season with a torn biceps, then he will be warrior. But with 10 games left in the season (plus potentially playoffs), it doesn't seem likely that a 36-year-old will be able to be an effective player with that injury.
Halapoulivaaiti Vaitai will most likely have to take over once again for Peters at some point this season as the team's left tackle.
Four years ago, right guard Todd Herremans suffered a torn biceps, and ended up playing in the same game after being off the field for three plays. Herremans ended up playing one more game before being placed on season-ending IR. This injury happened to Herremans when he was 31 years old. With Jason Peters being 5 years older, it's safe to have pessimistic thoughts and brace for the worst that "The Franchise" will be placed on IR some point down the road.
This injury doesn't necessarily mean an end to any possible Super Bowl run, as we saw the Eagles win the "Big Game" with "Big V" protecting Nick Foles' blindside. However, with the team already struggling to keep Carson Wentz upright, it's okay to start being concerned with the offensive line's condition moving forward. Unless the team ends up signing another offensive tackle, the team will have Isaac Seumalo rotate in if Vaitai or Lane Johnson end up getting hurt. Jordan Mailata (who has never played a meaningful snap of football in his life) will also be one-step closer to being thrown into the deep end.
