The Eagles running game had a rough go of it in Week 1 against Washington. With Miles Sanders out, the trio of Boston Scott, Corey Clement, and Jason Huntley combined for just 55 rushing yards on 16 attempts.
Even with Sanders back this weekend, the Eagles don't want that lack of production to hinder their team again, so they are looking for some outside help at running back. According to ESPN insider Field Yates, the Eagles will host Dovonta Freeman for a visit.
Freeman has been rumored to the Eagles a few times this offseason, and it sounds like the rumor of the team being interested has finally come true. The visit won't take place until next week due to the slow process that has to take place with COVID-19 protections. There's a good chance that Freeman could be signed next week and potentially play for the Eagles in Week 3 against the Cincinnati Bengals.
All four Eagles running backs (Sanders, Scott, Clement, Huntley) have similar playing styles, so maybe the team will want to ditch Huntley and bring in Freeman for a different running style. The 28-year-old former Pro Bowler has 3,972 rushing yards and 32 rushing touchdowns in 77 career games.
