REPORT: Eagles Have Contacted the Cardinals About Patrick Peterson

With the Eagles secondary being faulty to start the season, talks have begun that the team needs to upgrade at either cornerback or safety. Howie Roseman appears to have the same mindset, as a report has come out that he has been in contact with the Arizona Cardinals about Pro-Bowl cornerback Patrick Peterson.

Peterson would be an immediate upgrade to the secondary that needs a boost. Bringing him on would mean Peterson and Ronald Darby could be the outside corners, allowing Jalen Mills to be benched and rotate in only if the other two need a break. Once Sidney Jones is healthy, the secondary would become more of an asset than a liability.

Although the Eagles have been reaching out to the Cardinals, Peterson's cousin is saying that his preferred destination is with the Saints.

Since there is a mutual interest, that could make a trade easier between those two teams, leaving the Eagles in the dust and still in the market for defensive back help.

The trade deadline is eight days, and with the Eagles at 3-4 it is likely that Howie Roseman won't stand pat, and will make at least one impactful trade.
