Possible Eagles Additions During Free Agency: Wide Receivers

Well, with sports canceled for the next few weeks, the NFL has stated that the new league year will still remain on March 18th at 4:00 pm EST.

With the expectation that the NFL free agency period will begin next week, let's take a look at the top five wide receiver free agents available that would fit in Philadelphia.

1. WR Amari Cooper

  • Cooper is expected to re-sign in Dallas, along with Dak Prescott. However, if the Eagles can pry Cooper away from the dreaded Cowboys, he would be a great fit in midnight green.

  • Cooper's speed and route running ability would pair well in the Eagles' 12 Personnel package. This would open up the seams for Zach Ertz, Dallas Goedert, and Miles Sanders.

2. Emmanuel Sanders

  • Howie Roseman made it clear that the Eagles wanted to get younger on both sides of the ball. However, Sanders does have some juice left even at age 32.

  • If the Eagles can sign Sanders for a sub-$10mil contract - sign me up.

3. Robby Anderson

  • Anderson is expected to re-sign with the Jets as well. If he does hit free agency though, he is just what the Eagles need with his speed.

  • If a deal was struck at the deadline for Anderson the Birds would have already likely locked him to a long-term deal by now.

4. Breshad Perriman

  • Another outside speed threat, Perriman jumped around quite a bit his first three seasons in the NFL.

  • Originally labeled a bust, Perriman had a somewhat breakout campaign during his free agency year in Tampa Bay. There is still untapped potential here.

5. Demarcus Robinson

  • Robinson may get overpaid, as he did just come off of a Super Bowl-winning team. All reports on Robinson is that he is a good wideout on the outside, with solid upside since he was buried on the depth chart in Kansas City.
