In the Eagles win against the Redskins on Sunday, Malik Jackson suffered a foot injury that Coach Pederson described as "significant" to the media on Monday. Today we learned that his Lisfranc injury will require surgery next week. Jackson will miss the rest of the 2019 season.
Jackson was brought in this year to the team to replace Michael Bennett, who was traded to the New England Patriots back in March. Jackson's absence will be felt in the defensive line rotation.
We will have to wait and see if Howie Roseman makes any moves to fill the void left by Jackson in the rotation. A move will have to happen after Jackson is officially put on IR. In the meantime, Tim Jernigan and Hassan Ridgeway will see more snaps and it is possible the team will call Bruce Hector up from the practice squad to provide more depth.
