Malik Jackson Donates $100,000 to Local Philly Non Profit

Yesterday, Eagles defensive tackle Malik Jackson announced his plan to contribute to the fight against COVID-19 by donating $100,000 to Fred's Footsteps.

Fred's Footsteps is a non-profit organization in Philadelphia. Their mission is to "provide financial relief to hard-working families in the Philadelphia region who find themselves in a crisis due to the costs associated with caring for a seriously ill, injured, or disabled child." Jackson said he chose this organization because it is well respected in Philly and is working to help families who may be affected during this time.

Jackson told reporters he felt compelled to give to the Philly area ever since signing with the Eagles in March 2019 and has been active in the community ever since. However, after watching a recent 60 Minutes episode, he realized he wasn't doing enough.

Jackson also made a contribution to L.A. County USC Hospital earlier in the week by providing meals to medical personnel.

It is incredible to see the players we cheer on every Sunday supporting the city. Jackson, like many other Eagles, have shown Philly fans just how much they value the community they represent, reminding us all that it is so much bigger than football.
