Malcolm Jenkins Reworks Contract to Help Eagles With Cap Space

Howie Roseman and S Malcolm Jenkins have worked together to restructure Jenkins' contract. Doing this has helped create over $6 million in cap space for this season.

The Eagles were already under the salary cap for this season, so there wasn't an immediate need for the space. Could the team be possibly looking into giving a new contract to a player on the last year of their deal?

According to Spotrac, the Eagles currently have 20 players set to become Free Agents after this season. The most noteworthy ones are: DE Brandon Graham, CB Ronald Darby, LB Jordan Hicks, RB Jay Ajayi, and K Jake Elliott. Howie Roseman might be looking to give some of the extra money Jenkins created to one of those players list this year if he gets them to agree to a long-term deal that is front-loaded.

One thing is certain: always trust Howie Roseman when it comes to the salary cap.
