Howie Roseman's busy offseason continued today, as RT Lane Johnson has reportedly agreed to a contract restructure.
This move makes sense for both sides. Johnson's cap hit was set to be over $15.5M in 2019, but ever since he got suspended in 2016 for performance enhancing drugs, his contract had no guarantees left in it. The restructure will lower his cap hit, but Johnson will likely get some guaranteed money for his troubles.
It's been a frantic week for Howie Roseman, as just in the past few days he has re-signed Brandon Graham, extended Jason Kelce's contract, extended Isaac Seumalo's contract, and declined Tim Jernigan's option. Rumors are also swirling that Roseman is shopping Michael Bennett, inquiring about Duke Johnson, and will look to extend Halapoulivaati Vaitai's contract.
