It seems that no matter where you turn these days, you can’t escape the Nick Foles/Carson Wentz debate, and even the most high-profile Eagles fans aren’t immune.
Kevin Hart, who provided a humorous moment to the Eagles’ Super Bowl victory when he tried to gain access to the trophy presentation stage and was denied, joined the Dan Patrick Show on Thursday, and invariably Wentz/Foles came up.
Hart had a pretty strong response, making clear which camp he sits in.
You can hear the discussion at the 22:00-minute mark of the video.
In part, Hart said “100%. You have to,” in regard to making Foles the starter next year. He referred to Foles as a “closer” and “the heart and soul of the football team.”
Hart also said he’s optimistic about the Eagles chances on Sunday and feels that the way the regular season matchup played out could cause the Saints to take the Eagles lightly.
I know many Eagles fans are growing weary of the Wentz/Foles debate (I am too) and want to focus on this week’s game. But the reality is that no matter how pointless the debate is, it’s not going anywhere for a while and we’re just going to have to deal with it.
Now we know where one of the most famous Eagles fans stands on the issue. I wonder what Bradley Cooper thinks. On second thought, no I don’t.
Go Birds.
