Josh Adams Underwent Shoulder Surgery This Offseason

Updated: May 8, 2019

The Eagles' leading rusher from last season was able to do so with a bum shoulder.

Today we found out that running back Josh Adams had shoulder surgery following the 2018 campaign.

The labrum surgery Adams underwent will sideline him for six-months timetable for a return, meaning he should be a full participant in July's training camp.

This news might change some perspective on the second-year running back. There was a perception that Adams wasn't given any significant playing time in the postseason because of a costly fumble in the Texans game that almost lead to the Eagles being eliminated from postseason contention. Instead, the team likely felt his injury hampered his play too much to be an effective option in the backfield in January.

If he is fully healthy in the summer, Adams has a pretty good shot at making the final roster in 2019 as long as the Eagles don't draft a running back high in next week's draft.
