Last year the Eagles were able to sign Corey Clement immediately after the 2017 NFL Draft, and he stepped up when Darren Sproles went on IR to become a Philadelphia hero, helping the Eagles win their first ever Super Bowl. One year later and it sounds like the team might have found another diamond in the rough to help them at the running back position.
This past April, analysts and Notre Dame football fans alike were left wondering why Josh Adams wasn't selected in the 2018 NFL Draft. The Eagles were quick to contact him and offer him a contract to allow him the opportunity to try and make the 53 man roster. So far it seems like the team made a great investment, as Adams was one of of the lone bright spots in an otherwise relatively boring preseason opener. Adams only had 6 carries for 30 rushing yards, but he looked like he belonged out there on a NFL field. His performance on Thursday night caught the eye of NFL analyst Brian Baldinger when he was going through film of the game.
The Eagles backfield is loaded with talent at the moment, but if Josh Adams stays healthy and keeps playing like he did Thursday night, then he should have no worries about making the 53 man roster.
