JJ Arcega-Whiteside is Prepared to Step Up against the Lions

Carson Wentz told the media today that he had never seen anything like last week’s game against the Falcons where DeSean Jackson, Alshon Jeffery, and Dallas Goedert had to leave the game due to injuries. It was obvious that the team was scrambling to get anything going offensively, but this week JJ Arcega-Whiteside is ready to step it up for the team.

Doug Pederson confirmed today that Arcega-Whiteside and Mack Hollins will get first team reps with Wentz this week as Jackson and Jeffery are doubtful for this Sunday’s game. Arcega-Whiteside is ready for the challenge. He told the media today, “Me and Carson haven’t ran those [plays] ever together. So that kind of showed a bit. That’s just going out to practice and working it. We are not even worried about it because we know once we get that timing down, it’s over.”

Wentz told the media that he got reps in with Arcega-Whiteside and Hollins today which is great news. It was obvious during last Sunday’s game that the quarterback and receivers were on two completely different pages. It is great to hear that they are working hard to get in sync and hopefully that work will show on the field in the first quarter against the Lions this Sunday.
