Jadeveon Clowney Really, Really Wants to Be an Eagle

This weekend, teams across the NFL are cutting players in order to make it down to the required 53-man rosters. Some teams however also are considering some trades in order to get some players they want on their Week 1 rosters. The Eagles are known to be one of those teams interested in trades, as we found out earlier in the week that they have been in contact with the Houston Texans regarding defensive end Jadeveon Clowney.

Clowney has made it clear that he only wants to play for a contender this season, and out of all the teams the Texans have had trade talks with, Clowney is only interested in coming to either Philadelphia or Seattle. All of that information was hearsay from beat writers and reporters who are plugged into the situation, but we now know that Clowney wanting to become an Eagle is legit.

Shannon Sharpe posted on Instagram stating that if the Eagles landed Clowney, they would undoubtedly win the Super Bowl. Eagles fans like to hear that, but you know who else "liked" hearing that? Clowney. He took to Instagram and double-tapped that post.

With their interest in Clowney abundantly clear, the Eagles might have some trouble negotiating a deal to land the defensive end. However, Howie Roseman has likely already set a limit to how much he'd be willing to give away to acquire the disgruntled star. Roseman will have to stay strong and not tip his hand, and if the Texans realize they aren't going to get what they are asking for, then Roseman might be able to add to the defensive line depth without paying an arm and a leg.

We might have to wait a little bit longer for Clowney to possibly become an Eagle. Right now it seems like there is a staring contest between Chris Olsen and Roseman. Hopefully Olsen blinks first.
