Howie Roseman has worked his magic once again. This time, he and Zach Ertz agreed to restructure the star tight end's contract, creating more than $5.7 Million in cap space in 2019.
In the past year, Roseman has worked out restructures with a handful of players, including Fletcher Cox, Rodney McLeod, Lane Johnson, Jason Kelce, and Nigel Bradham.
So what do all of these restructured contracts mean? The Eagles now will have over $27 Million in cap space for the 2019 season (or it can be rolled over into the 2020 season). With all of that money freed up, it appears the team might be close to a mega-contract with Carson Wentz. Even if they aren't close now, with the ability to roll that money over to 2020, we know that a healthy portion of the money should end up in Wentz's pockets at some point down to road.
