The NFL's "Annual League Meeting" is taking place this week in Phoenix, Arizona. At these meetings, team owners, general managers, and coaches come together to discuss the upcoming season and possible changes that will be made this season or in the future.
Today Howie Roseman talked to media members, and he was asked about Carson Wentz's health and long-term future. While he didn't dive into the health aspect, Roseman made it clear that Wentz is the future at quarterback for the Eagles.
Wentz is expected to get a mega-contract that could come around the $30 Million/year range as soon as next season. Roseman has already started preparing for that kind of cap damage by restructuring some contracts of players like Lane Johnson, Nigel Bradhamand Rodney McLeod.
If Wentz goes down with another long-term injury this season, that could hamper his chances of getting a long-lasting contract with big money guaranteed. But Howie Roseman appears to be betting on Wentz to bounce back in 2019 and prove doubters wrong, and that he is here to stay and dominate the NFL for the foreseeable future.
