How Former Eagles Fared in Week 5 of the XFL

The XFL is officially halfway through its regular season. The re-booted league is littered with former Eagles across the league, and with not a lot of Eagles news happening this time of year, we will be monitoring how the former Eagles are performing. If you need a recap of which Eagles appeared on the stat sheets so far, you can look back at our previous articles: Week 1

This week, 12 former Eagles got their names on the official scorecards. Here's what the Week 5 stats showed:

LB Asantay Brown (Dallas)

• seven tackles

DT Gabe Wright (Houston)

• four tackles (one for loss), one sack

CB Josh Hawkins (Dallas) • three tackles, one interception, one pass defended

*Note: Hawkins is T-2nd in the XFL in interceptions (2)

S Jerome Couplin (Los Angeles)

• four tackles, one QB hit

LB Ryan Mueller (New York)

• one tackle, one interception, one pass defended

QB Luis Perez (New York) • 16/30, 229 yards, one touchdown, one interception

RB Matt Jones (St. Louis) • 13 rushes, 70 yards; one reception

*Note: Jones is 2nd in the XFL in total rushing yards (314)

RB Donnell Pumphrey (D.C.)

WR DeAndre Thompkins (D.C.)

There are still five more weeks in their regular season for these former Eagles to establish themselves before the playoffs come around. Once the playoffs are over, there might be a few players from this list that make their way onto 90-man NFL rosters when training camp rolls around.
