Historic Eagles-Cowboys Streak Likely Comes to an End

For 12-straight seasons, the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys would square off at least once a year on Sunday Night Football. That streak, which is the longest in the history of the primetime series, is set to come to an end in 2021.

Even though ratings for the annual matchup is usually through the roof, it appears the 4-11-1 Eagles and the 6-10 Cowboys just didn't appeal to the SNF crowd this season. The only chance these two teams have at playing on Sunday Night Football to keep the streak alive is if the NFC East crown needs to be decided when they face in Week 18.

The two historic rivals will get to face off in a night game this season though, as they will meet in Week 3 for Monday Night Football. These teams have played at least one night game/prime time game against each other since 2007.
