The New York Giants dropped a bombshell this evening, trading star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to the Cleveland Browns.
So what does this mean for the Eagles?
The Eagles will now be facing a New York Giants team that will most likely starting a 38-year-old Eli Manning without any receiving help. It's starting to appear more likely that the Giants are going to tank the 2019 season in hopes of having Manning retire after the season and drafting their next quarterback early in the 2020 NFL Draft. Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert has long been linked to the Giants, and since he returned to school for his senior season, the Giants might be trying to play the odds and hoping to get one of the top picks in 2020 to draft Herbert.
If the Giants are indeed mailing in their 2019 season already, this will be a chance for the Eagles to accomplish something they've never done in their 86 year history: take the series lead in their rivalry (currently tied 86–86–2).
