Four Eagles Make 2010s All-Decade Team

It's hard to believe, but once this upcoming NFL season concludes the 2010s decade will officially be behind us.

The 2010s were kind to the Eagles, as they have gone 78-66, winning three NFC East division championships, one NFC championship, and their first ever Lombardi Trophy. The team also looks poised to do some damage with their final year of eligibility in the 2010s, so their overall record and accolades may be added to by the time February rolls around.

Their great play in the 2010s was thanks to the team having some extremely talented players. Leading up to opening kickoff this weekend, Pro Football Reference has been coming up with lists of each decade in NFL history, showing all the important things that happened in football over the specific decade mentioned. They wrap up each decade with a comprehensive list of the best players over those 10 years. For the 2010s, the Eagles ended up with four players on the list:

•LeSean McCoy

•Jason Peters

•Fletcher Cox

•Malcolm Jenkins

*technically they had five players since Haloti Ngata was on the team in 2017, but he is on the list for his play prior to his time in Philadelphia.

In his time in Philadelphia during the 2010s, McCoy rushed for 6,792 yards (a franchise record), and 44 touchdowns. He also caught 300 passes for 2,282 receiving yards and 10 more touchdowns through the air.

Peters has spent all of the 2010s in Philadelphia, playing in 112 games and earning six Pro Bowl nominations and two 1st Team All-Pro selections.

Cox has been in the NFL with the Eagles since 2012. In his seven seasons, Cox has 44.5 sacks and 111 QB hits in 109 games. He has earned four Pro Bowl nominations and one 1st Team All-Pro selection.

Jenkins signed in Philadelphia as a Free Agent in 2014. In his five seasons in midnight green, Jenkins has amassed 418 tackles, 11 interceptions (three pick-sixes), 50 passes defended, 26 tackles for loss, eight forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries, six QB hits, and three sacks. He has earned three Pro Bowl selections for his great play, and his hit on Brandin Cooks in Super Bowl LII will be remembered by fans across the NFL for generations to come.

Of course since all of these players have been stellar throughout the 2010s, they are all listed in the Top 100 Eagles Ever article we created earlier this week. All four of these players will always be remembered for their accomplishments in an Eagles uniform, and now are immortalized as being considered among the best players in the NFL this decade.

With Doug Pederson and Howie Roseman working well together and creating great Eagles teams these past few seasons, we might have even more Eagles represented on the 2020s All-Decade Team.
