Five Wide Receivers the Eagles Could Target Before the Trade Deadline

Alshon Jeffery is leaking frustration to the press, DeSean Jackson is STILL injured, Nelson Agholor is giving up on plays and dropping passes, and the rest of the wide receivers on the roster struggle to get onto the field and be effective. The Philadelphia Eagles definitely need some help at the position to keep Carson Wentz from going insane. With the trade deadline around the corner, here are five pass catchers the Eagles could potentially add to bolster this team:

Robby Anderson, NYJ

I would say this is the most likely outcome of this whole article. Philadelphia has been trying to pry Anderson from the Jets for a while now. They offered New York a 4th Round pick at the deadline last season, but that front office didn't want to move him. With a new GM in ex-Eagle Joe Douglas, maybe the two teams can work something out. It is possible, the two teams could work out a mega deal involving Leonard Williams, Robby Anderson, and Sidney Jones. Robby is set to be a UFA after the season, so the asking price shouldn't be too much.

Devante Parker, MIA

The Dolphins are a bad team. They are set to blow this team up, and that means a fire sale is coming. The Eagles have expressed interest in Parker before, but never struck a deal. Another UFA after the season, the Dolphins may just want to get the pick for him earlier rather than wait for the compensatory pick in 2021.

Antonio Callaway, CLE

This is where things get a bit complicated. The Eagles have not outright expressed interest in Callaway, but the Browns may be looking to move on from the troubled receiver. He was suspended the first four games of the season for violating the leagues substance abuse policy. Since returning Callaway only has two catches for 22 yards. A change of environment may be good for Callaway.

AJ Green, CIN

This one is a bit of a longshot since Cincinnati Head Coach Zac Taylor shot down rumors, but that has happened before players have been traded in the past. The Bengals are winless, it may be time for a complete rebuild, and that may mean moving the superstar wideout.

Antonio Brown, FA

Let's have some fun with this one. Yes, he is a drama queen, yes he has some baggage. But, he backs it up on the field. If added, Brown would immediately give this offense a boost, easily being the best receiver the Eagles have had in years. The Eagles did their "due-diligence" before on Brown. I say give him a shot, let him prove he still has it. The locker room seems to be in disarray anyway, so Brown wouldn't be ruining the locker room culture.
