Feed Jordan Howard
When the Eagles beat Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers, one thing stood out to me -- Jordan Howard getting the ball and running it down the throat the Packers defense that had been over performing this year. I truly believe that this is the way that the Eagles are going to make it over the edge.
Carson Wentz, as good as he is now, will be even better with a good consistent running back. When the Eagles won the Super Bowl back in 2017, they had Jay Ajayi and LeGarrette Blount to help carry the load for Nick Foles. This allowed Foles to really dial it in whenever a passing play was called. A good running game also opens up opportunity for play action. In play action, Carson can use his athleticism to make plays but for that to work the defense needs to be watching for the run game.
Jordan Howard was a more than serviceable back during his time with the Chicago Bears, and the Eagles got him for a 6th round pick which was definitely a steal, so now the question on all the fans minds is why isn't he getting the ball more?
The Eagles really like second round rookie Miles Sanders, and he will be the one carrying the load for years to come. But if were being honest, it is clear to see that as of right now he is not ready to carry the full load, but Jordan Howard definitely is.
During his game against the Packers, Howard ran for 87 yards and two touchdowns averaging 5.8 yards per carry. I believe that if the Eagles feed Howard more often, performances like last Thursday's can become the norm. If that becomes the norm then the Eagles will be soaring higher than ever.
