After losing Shelton Gibson to injury, the Eagles have an eye on possibly adding another receiver to the battle for one of the final receiver spots on the roster.
At the NovaCare Complex this afternoon, the Eagles worked out wide receiver Bruce Ellington.
Ellington has been in the NFL since 2014, and has played for the 49ers, Texans and Lions. He has made some impact in the passing game, as he has 79 career catches for 769 yards and five touchdowns. He also has experience in the return game, as he has accumulated over 1,651 yards as both a punt returner and kick returner.
Ellington is certainly more polished than Gibson has been to this point in their NFL career, but the team didn't sign Ellington immediately after the workout. They might have decided not to sign him, or waiting for the next domino to drop before bringing in Ellington officially.
