In Thursday night's preseason game, the Eagles sacked Tennessee Titans quarterbacks three times. It seems the team didn't think that production was good enough, as the team has acquired defensive end Eli Harold in a trade to help bolster the position.
Harold has played in 61 career games in the NFL, registering nine sacks.
It's interesting timing that the Eagles are bringing in a defensive end -- Shareef Miller registered a sack in his first NFL action, and Daeshon Hall had a great game with a sack of his own and six total tackles. With the Eagles losing Joe Ostman to a torn ACL during the open practice, the team must have decided it still wanted eight defensive ends in their practices and preseason games.
Harold will now be thrown into the preseason mix and battle for one of the depth spots available at the position.
