Eagles to Sign Cody Kessler

The quarterback room in Philadelphia is starting to get crowded, as NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that the Eagles are set to sign Cody Kessler tomorrow.

Kessler has played in 17 games in his NFL career, starting 12 of those contests. He has passed for 2,215 yards and eight touchdowns, but has also tossed five interceptions and has been sacked 49 times.

The Eagles are now set to have four quarterbacks competing to back up Carson Wentz: Nate Sudfeld, Clayton Thorson, Luis Perez, and Kessler. Even after these recent additions, Sudfeld is still the favorite to be the #2 guy, and since the team invested a valuable draft choice on Thorson, he'll likely be the #3 quarterback barring anything extraterrestrial from Perez or Kessler.

At least we know we won't have to watch guys like Christian Hackenberg or Matt McGloin under center this preseason (sorry Penn State/Eagles fans).
